A local connection planning restriction is in place which seeks to ensure that the properties will be let to applicants with a local connection to the primary parish of Grade Ruan. Strong local connection is defined as:

  • The applicant lives in the Parish and has done so continuously for the last three years, and that residence was of their choice.
  • The applicant has lived in the parish continuously for 5 years at some stage in the past.
  • The applicant is employed in permanent employment in the Parish (permanent employment is regarded as 16 hours or more per week for a continuous period of three years.
  • The applicant has close family (mother, father, brother, sister, son or daughter) that have resided in the Parish for a minimum of the past five years.
